Name Game — Who's Here?
A simple name song and photo play help a toddler recognize their name and notice features of self and others.

Materials
- Photos of each child
- A mirror
Steps
- Sing a short hello song, naming each child in turn.
- Pause on each name and invite the child to respond by looking or coming.
- Hold the mirror and point out a feature, for example "you have curly hair."
- Show each child their photo and name them warmly.
- Notice similarities and differences kindly, for example "you both have brown eyes."
Variations
- Add a puppet that "looks for" each child by name.
- Let children find their own photo in a small basket.
Differentiation
- For younger children, focus on their own name and face.
- For older toddlers, ask them to name a feature of themselves.
Accessibility
- Pair each name with eye contact, a gentle touch, or a sign.
- Use clear, high-contrast photos for children with vision differences.
Safety
- Use a shatterproof mirror and store photos out of mouthing reach.
